Matthew Cautivar has served as the Director of Orchestras at Hebron High School in Lewisville ISD since 2016.  Under his direction the Hebron Orchestra has earned numerous awards and distinctions, as well as achieved numerous program firsts.

Matthew received a Bachelor of Music degree with honors from the University of North Texas.  He is an advocate of LISD’s Strategic Design initiative as well as the 1:X initiative, having served previously on the Technology Cadre and Campus Design Team.  He has presented professional learning for LISD and TODA on a variety of topics, such as technology in the classroom, grading for learning, relationship building, and new teacher training.  His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Orchestra Directors Association.  He has served on the TMEA Election Committee, the UIL Music Advisory Committee, the TODA Composition Contest Committee, and the LISD Device Evaluation Committee.

Matthew  enjoys several genres of music, and even more – sharing the joy of music with students. In his free time he enjoys cooking and dining, watching and playing basketball, and taking his newly adopted pitbull Turtle Latte on runs at the lake.
