ScoreData
A Different Kind of Score Study
It doesn't take long wandering the halls of the UNT College of Music before you hear the mantra uttered, "You have to know the rules before you can break them." Â This is sound advice, or perhaps more directly as a mandate: "Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist." - Pablo Picasso. Â

The purpose of the ScoreData Analysis is not to replace traditional score study. Â This great article by Joshua Thompson covers foundational concepts as you consider your repertoire: Score Study for the Busy Director

The goal of ScoreData Analysis is to discover hidden insights in adjudicated performance.  It shows what has happened so we can focus on why and how.  The expert music analysis included in the ScoreData seeks to explain performance trends and tendencies, and theorizes why a certain piece may or may not perform as expected at UIL.  If you're lucky enough to have a mentor you trust, they might be able to share a few repertoire ideas to get you started.  Scoredatara taps into approximately 13,000 different repertoire selections to help you choose the perfect program.
